Prepare to be buttered up for the debut of The Amazing Spider-Man 2's teaser trailer this Thursday.

The butter, in this instance, is an official version of the triptych banner that confirms which Osborn goes Green Goblin.  Oh, and also five stills showing the webslinger and Electro in action both together and apart.

The first teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings, triple-flips, and lands gracefully online December 5th.

We're warming up the big show on Thursday with a first look at a triptych poster that pits Spider-Man – in his redesigned costume – against a bevy of bad guys, from Electro to the Rhino to a rebooted Green Goblin.

Thanks to the phenomenal success of Marvel Studios, it's no longer enough for a studio to have a major superhero franchise.

Now, shared universes are the new hotness, True Believers, and it's looking likely that Sony Pictures is going to make hay with familiar Spider-Man characters in their own cinematic adventures.

Hey Spider-fans, an official picture from next year's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is here to show Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon prior to becoming the villainous Electro.

Not only that, but this picture is accompanied by two images that we've seen before, but only in cruddy low-resolution scans and whatnot.  With the new versions, you get much better looks at Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan as Peter Parker and Harry Osborn, as well as Peter's cluttered bedroom.

Spider-Man does whatever a spider can, as well as many, many things that a spider cannot.

Romancing the beautiful Gwen Stacy, for example, facing off against the villainous Electro, and wearing a nice fireman's hat while wielding a fire hose.  He's doing all of these things in a trio of pictures from next summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Two nuggets of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 news for you today, True Believers!

1. The first trailer for Andrew Garfield's second round of web-slinging is set to arrive this December, accompanying The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

2. Director Hans Zimmer and director Marc Webb have apparently formed a supergroup of big-name musicians to contribute to the sequel's score to an as-yet unexplained extent.

Okay, we still know very little about Woody Allen's latest film, but we know a little more than we used to, and we have two first-look images showing off Emma Stone, Marcia Gay Harden, and Colin Firth.

Importantly, we also now know that Allen's next is titled Magic in the Moonlight.

To call Hans Zimmer prolific doesn't quite do his output justice.  This summer, the composer handled Man of Steel and The Lone Ranger, while fall is covered by Rush and 12 Years a Slave.

Now, the busy Oscar-winner is sharing his thoughts on two of the most anticipated event movies of 2014 and 2015, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the Man of Steel sequel.

Writing Trio Set for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3'

Wednesday, 02 October 2013 10:03

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is still seven months away, but with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 already set for June 10, 2016, Sony Pictures is putting three writers to work on the third installment.

And it seems the studio must be happy with how the upcoming sequel is turning out, because Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner are all returning for the rebooted Spidey's third swing.

Unarguably, Clark Duke is one of the funniest young comedic actors working in Hollywood today!

He first gained attention on the small screen for his work on Greek, and the Internet series Clark and Michael co-starring Michael Cera, but it was probably his role on The Office that he is best known for. He has also appeared in several successful films including Superbad, Sex Drive, Kick-Ass, Hot Tub Time Machine, Identity Thief, and Kick-Ass 2, as well as recently finishing work on another highly awaited sequel - Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Earlier this year, Duke’s first performance in an animated movie was released with the box office hit The Croods, which will be available on Blu-ray and DVD beginning October 1st.

The film was produced by DreamWorks Animation and directed by Kirk De Micco (Space Chimps) and Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon). The Croods follows a caveman’s (Nicolas Cage) family as they trek through an unfamiliar fantastical world with the help of an inventive young boy (Ryan Reynolds), after their cave is destroyed. Duke plays the family’s youngest son Thunk, and in addition to Cage and Reynolds, the film also stars Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man), Oscar-nominee Catherine Keener (A Late Quartet), and Oscar-winner Cloris Leachman (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid). The Croods did so well during its theatrical release that a planned sequel has already been announced.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Clark Duke about his work on The Croods, as well as its upcoming sequel, and Hot Tub Time Machine 2. The comedic actor discussed The Croods, making his first animated film, creating his character’s voice, recording alone, working with directors Kirk De Micco and Chris Sanders, never actually meeting Ryan Reynolds, the movie’s premise, possibly returning for the planned sequel, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, when he finished filming, Adam Scott’s addition to the project, and if the original film’s star John Cusack will actually appear in the sequel.
